Sometimes I do not know why I bother to go away for vacation, do you know what I mean? It’s a frazzel to get ready, pack, load everything up, and go. Then when you get home you do everything you did before the trip in reverse order. You unload everything, unpack, put everything away, and try to unfrazzel (is that a word?).

You may have noticed that I added a box in the upper right corner of the main page for the Colorado Coffee newsletter. I thought I would take a minute to tell you about it. The newsletter is a sort of coffee klatch. For you guys, that’s girl talk for a social gathering for coffee and conversation. Seven or eight of my friends and I will sit around a table for four and chat about trips, clothes, guys, vacations, pictures we took with our digital cameras, review DVDs we’ve seen, etc.

The Colorado Coffee newsletter is more of a coffee klatch about coffee, grinders, makers, cups, recipes, and general coffee topics. I promise there will be no girl talk. I’ve never done a newsletter before, so I might be a little hair brained starting off. Please don’t e-mail me and tell me that. :-)  Well if you must, I guess that’s O.K.

I use a program from Aweber Communications for my e-mail list. You can see what it does here AWeber. This is called an auto responder and it’s kind of like an e-mail program like Outlook where you set it up when you are out of town, it will respond with a note telling people you are away on vacation, etc. Aweber is really good at subscribing and unsubscribing people so when the day comes that you want to subscribe, fill out the box on the main page and it will send you an e-mail for you to confirm that you want the newsletter. This is called a double opt-in and reduces any unwanted e-mail from me to you. You have to really want the e-mail newsletter. If you don’t reply back, you aren’t on the newsletter list.

On the other hand, if you decide one day that you do not want the newsletter any longer, (and I hope that day never comes) every e-mail you get from me has an unsubscribe link at the bottom that you can use to unsubscribe from the list.

I also plan to use Aweber to track what articles people read in the newsletter, so you might see links in the newsletter that start out like this: and lots of other capital and lower case letters. I’m just trying to see what people are reading so I can target my articles to the ones that are popular.

If you ever want to get a hold of me, the best way is to leave a comment, under one of the articles I write on the blog. Every comment is moderated, so I read each one before it posts on the  blog. If you want to ask a question or see an article about a subject, leave me a comment.

I’m still getting settled after my vaca. And I need to tell you about Molly. If you have any questions, leave me a comment. I will answer you back. I hope you are enjoying a nice brew of coffee.  Java Girl
